Our next guest espresso is this washed beauty from the Nyeri District of Kenya. Nestled between the slopes of Mount Kenya and the Aberdares, this smallholder lot delivers good citrus acidity, a full body and black tea florals. A classic Kenyan profile, get ready to pull some sweet, summery shots of spro.
The idea for this coffee came about over a chat with Momo, our good friend at Kamba Coffee. We were discussing how hard it is to find a good Kenyan espresso at the moment, and as Kamba have just sourced this as their first ever Kenyan coffee, well...this one's for you Momo!

FROM OUR IMPORTERS - KAMBA
Our first Kenyan coffee is sourced from our partners Paras and Sanjeev Shah who have been sourcing Kenyan coffee for over 30 years. They source from cooperatives and estates they have worked alongside with since 1990, benefiting from their local expertise on the ground. Paras and Sanjeev are familiar faces to the wider Kamba family in London HQ having been a regular supplier to our sister company.
Mugaga Farmers Cooperative stretches 1,485 hectares across the central Nyeri District and produces 565,000 kg of cherries annually. Grown between 1,600 and 2,050 metres above sea level, this coffee stands out with good acidity, a full smooth body, and complex aromatic flavours such as citrus, black tea and honey. The washing process is done with fresh river water from various streams flowing from Mt. Kenya and the Aberdares.
